Switch2 Supports South Lanarkshire Council and Larkhall & District Volunteering Group by Sponsoring 25 Community Walks

Switch2 is proud to be supporting South Lanarkshire Council and the Larkhall & District Volunteering Group (LDVG) to help local people stay active, feel connected, and enjoy new experiences through LDVG’s community walking programme.

As part of this support, Switch2 has sponsored 25 walks. This will help LDVG continue providing opportunities for residents to get outdoors, socialise, and explore, with transport support available for those who need it.

The impact of the group is best captured in the voices of those taking part:

“The walking group allows me to meet with people and socialise. The bus gives us the chance to visit places like Ayr, Peebles, Largs and Falkirk without worrying about how we’ll get there”

“The bus opens up opportunities of seeing places, especially for those of us who wouldn’t make it to places like these without the help of the LDVG bus and its driver”

“We have made friends, kept active and created memories together that we wouldn’t have. Without this bus, we wouldn’t have gotten to explore like we do”

Cathy Olphin, Sustainability Manager at Switch2, said:

“At Switch2 we’re passionate about making a difference in the communities where we work. Through working with South Lanarkshire Council, we were able to connect with some amazing community organisations who are making an impact every day.
We are so pleased to be able to support the great work done by Larkhall & District Volunteering Group by sponsoring 25 walks. It is initiatives like this that bring people together and keep communities going!”
