Kind-hearted staff from Saltaire-based Switch2 Energy, together with their suppliers Higgins Mechanical Services, G&H and CPC Civils, have donated more than £3,000 worth of gifts to the Christmas toy appeal by Shipley’s Windhill Community Centre.
The annual toy appeal aims to ensure that no local child or young person goes without a gift this Christmas, which will be more difficult for many in current challenging economic times.
Richard Harrison, CEO of Switch2 Energy, said: “Year-in-year out, Windhill Community Centre supports local people in so many different ways. The charity is close to our hearts as many of our staff live locally to the centre and we thank them and our suppliers for their generosity. A big thank you also goes to the centre for organising this vital annual toy appeal and for being there to make such a difference to the wellbeing of our community. ”
Hayley Darwent of Windhill Community Centre said: “The local response to our toy appeal from businesses and local people has been fantastic. Thank you to Switch2, its contractors and staff for giving so generously. We’re sure that these gifts will bring joy to the children and young people in our local area this Christmas.”
