Switch2 Energy has been shortlisted for three awards at the 2026 H&V News Awards, recognising both a state-of-the-art product and a new entrant in heat network performance, carbon efficiency, and smart metering.
Now in their 32nd year, the H&V News Awards celebrate excellence in technology, innovation and business practice across the heating and ventilation sector.
Following last year’s success of winning Domestic Heating Product of the Year (Components and Peripherals), the G10 Smart Metering Hub has yet again been shortlisted for the Low Carbon Impact Award, and the Domestic Heating Product of the Year (Components and Peripherals).
The G10, launched in April 2025, is an innovative smart meter allowing residents to top up via tap-to-pay without the need for a home internet connection, the first smart meter in the UK to do so. Built on an open SaaS model, it prevents vendor lock-in by allowing operators to switch billing providers without replacing hardware, with over 5,000 now installed across the UK residential heat network market.
These shortlists also mark the first award nomination for Optimise Hub, Switch2’s digital heat network optimisation service, shortlisted for the Low Carbon Impact Award.
The Optimise Hub helps operators and owners understand their residential heat networks on a deeper level, with insights into performance and targeted engineer visits. The move from reactive to proactive maintenance reduces energy waste and can help advise considerable carbon savings.
