Pay-As-You-Go Services

Flexible, clear PAYG which puts the resident in control.

We were the first to introduce the concept of pay-as-you-go (prepayment) systems into community heating schemes more than 30 years ago and we are still leading the industry today. We are increasingly finding PAYG to be an attractive option for community heating scheme operators, both in the private and public sector.

Bringing together technology, risk management and consumer choice, our pay-as-you-go technology offers market leading data collection and payment options. They help to remove stigma associated with pay-as-you-go energy, providing an entirely new level of data visibility and acting as a fantastic tool to assist in budgeting and managing fuel consumption.

Case study:

Sheffield City Council undertook a city-wide project to install 6,000 heat meters and G6 units into Council properties in Sheffield. Residents were given the choice on how they wished to pay for their energy, with the majority choosing pay-as-you-go option. Once the project was complete residents could were saving a 38% reduction on their heating bills, an average saving of £238 on their annual bill.

Sheffield Resident, Lily McCall

“I think it’s brilliant. It’s efficient, easy to use and cheaper than the old systems.”

Councillor Jayne Dunn, Cabinet Member for Housing at Sheffield City Council

“We are installing new heat meters to help our tenants save money and have more control over their heating bills. It’s really important that the Council does everything it can to help people save money. If this scheme can go some way to easing any financial burdens then it can only be a good thing.”
