Heat networks play a critical role in the UK’s Net-Zero Strategy. We are committed to playing our part in expanding and decarbonising heat networks. We have developed targeted teams to help heat networks operate more efficiently and reduce their carbon footprint.
Optimise
Optimise is an innovative process developed at Switch2 which aims to improve the overall efficiency of residential heat networks, making sure that heat is delivered where it is needed and when it is needed. It is a data-driven approach, which analyses metering data to identify areas for potential improvement. Once opportunities have been identified, targeted interventions can be carried out to improve performance.
Through minimising the amount of heat loss in the system, less energy is needed to heat a property to the desired level.
This means:
- Significantly less gas is needed
- Less water needed to deliver heat, saving electricity.
- Together, this reduction in energy consumption means that each heat network has a significantly lower carbon footprint.
