1980

Introduced the first token PAYG system, giving control to residents and eliminating unexpected annual bills.

1998

Switch2 enter their first ESCo contract to deliver low cost reliable heat.

2000

Mbus automatic meter reading signals the end of unreliable manual meter reading for our customers. Increased convenience and more accurate bills.

2004

London Plan boosts community heating market in London.

2007

Ultrasonic meters introduced, improving quality and reliability of metering.

2012

Introduced first smart metering for community heating with the Switch2 G6.

2014

Switch2 brings energy centre maintenance completely in-house, improving reliability and reducing costs to residents.

2016

Switch2 launched the next generation in smart metering, Incontro. Combined IHD, PAYG and heating controls within one device.

2021

We launch the ICON connected, electronic heat interface unit, improving efficiency and reducing carbon in heat networks.

Our Accreditations

 

 

The Heat Trust- Heat Trust is the first UK voluntary customer protection scheme for heat networks. Launched in November 2015, it established an industry code of conduct to set minimum guaranteed performance standards for residents. It works by creating a layer of customer protection for residents on heat networks, putting a standard in the quality and level of customer service provided to customers by their heat energy supplier.
